Role Overview

The Corporate Trading desk trades derivatives and financing instruments for large stakeholders in public and private companies. The desk is expanding its footprint across margin lending and secondaries fund financing and adding headcount focused on these product segments.

Division Overview

The Institutional Equity Division (IED) is a global leader in the origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity-linked and equity-derivative securities. The Firm’s equity Sales & Trading operations provide liquidity, distribute content, and create product solutions to help our clients generate alpha. The Equity Financing Products department acts as a strategic partner to more than 800 top hedge fund managers: executing and clearing trades across asset classes, time zones, and currencies; providing financing and expertise to help manage risk and benefit from technology; and consults to help launch new funds and connect them with potential investors.

What will you be doing?

Pre-trade responsibilities:

  • Responding to equity swap, margin loan and fund financing structuring and pricing requests
  • Analysing transaction collateral including single-name equities and fund diligence
  • Review and preparation of term sheet documents, risk analysis, valuation analysis
  • Preparing transaction memos for internal committees and management briefings
  • Ability to review and negotiate complex legal documents

Post-trade responsibilities:

  • Booking & maintenance of cashflows/interest and transaction lifecycle events
  • Risk management and review of transaction triggers and covenants
  • Monitoring, including management of large datasets
  • Lifecycle private equity fund due diligence

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of single-name margin loans and fund financing is required
  • Economic and valuation background with strong excel skills
  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Existing experience operating within these product segments on public or private side
