Job Summary

The Project Manager – Supply Chain Planning manages, develops, and implements projects of varying complexity within the supply chain functional area. The role partners closely with global business stakeholders to ensure successful project execution, delivering solutions that advance Cummins’ operational and strategic goals. This position leads end-to-end project planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder alignment, while supporting deployment of demand planning and integrated business planning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead multiple projects from initiation through closure, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Facilitate project planning sessions to define scope, objectives, deliverables, and performance targets.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones, track progress against goals.
  • Identify, assess, and resolve project issues, risks, and constraints using approved project management tools.
  • Monitor and communicate project status, ensuring visibility for project teams, sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets, conduct research/analysis, and provide inputs for project design and timelines.
  • Document and share lessons learned; apply insights from prior projects to improve delivery outcomes.

Team & Resource Management

  • Identify and assign appropriate resources to achieve project tasks effectively.
  • Guide, coach, and support team members across project stages.
  • Provide constructive performance and development feedback.

Supply Chain & IBP Solution Deployment (Internal-Facing Expectations)

  • Drive design, development, testing, and deployment of global demand planning and Integrated Business Planning solutions for first-fit sites.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Supply Chain, operations, regional teams) for data analysis and problem-solving across program phases.
  • Lead requirements gathering and create comprehensive documentation including process flows, training content, and solution design artifacts.
  • Facilitate global training and testing cycles such as CRPs, SIT, and UAT.
  • Support multi-region deployments across India, China, UK, and North America.

Qualifications

  • Analyze data to solve user and system issues – Pull, compile, and analyze data to respond to user questions and issues
  • Interact with resources globally every day via Zoom, email or chat. Work hour flexibility is needed at times
  • Engage with Production Support IT teams as needed to resolve users' questions and issues
  • Participate in and manage any projects directly or indirectly impacting global planning system
  • Recommend and implement improvement ideas for global planning system functionality and data used by the system
  • Microsoft 365 proficiency, especially Excel
  • Supply Chain Knowledge – Basic level of experience and gained knowledge with Supply Chain planning
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Demand planning/IBP preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills & Experience Needed

Experience

  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience (intermediate level required).
  • Prior experience in project management within supply chain, operations, or related functions preferred.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong understanding of project management principles and agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of demand planning, supply chain planning, and Integrated Business Planning processes.
  • Ability to lead multi-phase solution design, testing, and deployment.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional and global teams.
  • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to support deployments across multiple time zones.

Soft Skills

  • Facilitate and manage training and testing events such as CRPs, SITs, and UATs.
  • Support global deployments across multiple time zones (India, China, UK, North America).
  • Has a good understanding of project management principles and agile methodologies to ensure timely and effective delivery.
  • Has a good understanding of demand planning and integrated business planning processes.
