As the Senior Marketing Manager for Developer Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how Visa connects with the technical community that builds the future of payments. You will be the champion for the developer audience, driving the strategy to engage, educate, and empower developers to build with Visa’s suite of APIs and solutions.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical innovation and market adoption. You will collaborate deeply with product teams, wider marketing teams and the research and insights group to translate complex technical capabilities into compelling narratives. Your work will directly influence the growth of our developer ecosystem, ensuring that Visa remains the top choice for developers integrating payment solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and execute the marketing plan for developers: Design and lead comprehensive go-to-market strategies specifically tailored to the developer persona, ensuring alignment with Visa’s broader business objectives.
- Manage content strategy and calendar: act as the editor-in-chief for developer communications, coordinating editorial themes, and curating high-quality materials from varying sources and cross-functional teams to maintain a consistent and authoritative voice.
- Develop high-quality, developer-facing content: Craft and oversee the creation of technical blog posts, integration guides, tutorials, case studies, and social media assets that grow awareness, engagement, and adoption of our solutions.
- Oversee and manage creative agencies: Direct external partners and agencies in campaign production and digital content creation, ensuring all output meets Visa’s high brand standards and resonates with a technical audience.
- Engage the developer community: Leverage online forums, webinars, hackathons, and meetups to build a vibrant, engaged developer community, fostering two-way conversation and advocacy.
- Measure and optimize impact: Define success metrics for campaigns, rigorously track performance against KPIs, and iterate strategies based on feedback and data to maximize developer engagement.
- Advocate for developers: Understand industry trends and competitor offerings to advocate for best practices to documentation, onboarding flows, and sandboxes.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
- 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD.
- Deep understanding of the developer audience: Proven track record of understanding developer communities, their motivations, and experience marketing directly to them with authenticity.
- Technical fluency: Work experience in the technology sector, including a strong understanding of technical audiences, ideally in the payments space.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Demonstrated experience working in complex, cross-functional organizations, successfully collaborating with product management, user research, analytics, digital marketing, and legal teams to move projects forward.
- Content creation expertise: Experience in creating compelling technical content and running integrated digital marketing campaigns that simplify complex concepts for a technical audience.
- Agency management: Experience collaborating with and managing external agencies to build best-in-class campaign work on time and within budget.
- Project management: Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 153,700.00 to 246,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
