Team/Role Overview:

Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) is a market leading, award-winning provider of cash management, cards and trade solutions to financial institutions, public sector, and corporate clients around the world. We provide clients with dynamic information, tools, and APIs to effectively manage their portfolios, financial positions, working capital and supply chains.

Individuals in Cross Disciplinary Controls are responsible for multiple activities within the Controls capabilities such as assessment & design, MCA, QA, Monitoring & Testing, Issue Management and/or Governance Reporting & Analysis for effective end to end oversight, design, implementation, and execution of controls. Individuals in this role may cover a broad range of in-business/function risk and control responsibilities rather than focusing on one specific role.

What you’ll do:

  • Assess the effectiveness of existing controls, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing necessary changes.
  • Continually drive and manage controls enhancements focused on increasing efficiency and reducing risk.
  • Drive execution of Enterprise Risk Management Framework and adherence with Risk Mgmt. / Compliance Policies.
  • Support oversight of the MCA program, including the annual/semi-annual/quarterly/monthly attestation, quality oversight, and related reporting.
  • Drive execution of the MCA in accordance with the Operational Risk Management Policy & Framework, as well as applicable Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
  • Responsible for the assessment of activities and processes as per required Policies, Standards and Procedures to strengthen risk management quality.
  • Responsible for the coordination and comprehensive management of issues with key stakeholders, aka largely product managers who own issues
  • Drive issue quality reviews ensuring compliance with Issue
  • Management Policy, Standards and Procedures. Manage the development and implementation of standardized risk and controls reporting to ensure sound, reliable, and consistent information exists across the organization, enabling better management and decision making in line with the expectations of senior management, Board, and Regulators.
  • Support the operations of Citi's governance committees, including coordinating meetings, managing agendas, and ensuring follow-up on action items.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of teams and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

What we’ll need from you:

  • 10+ years of experience in operational risk management, compliance, audit, or other control-related functions in the financial services industry.
  • Ability to identify, measure, and manage key risks and controls. Track record leading Control related projects and programs
  • Ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details.
  • Develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Citi’s businesses and functions and their risk profiles.
  • Developing new ideas and improving current processes to proactively mitigate risks.
  • Requires an ability to provide challenge and make recommendation for risk and controls remediation.
  • Expert knowledge in the development and execution for controls.
  • Proven experience in control related functions in the financial industry.
  • Proven experience in implementing sustainable solutions and improving processes.
  • Expert understanding of compliance laws, rules, regulations, and best practices.
  • Deep understanding of Citi’s Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex risk and control activities and processes.
  • Ability to deliver compelling presentations and influence executive audiences.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership, with strong results orientation.
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to engage and inspire across stakeholder groups.
  • Exceptional command in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Bachelor's/University degree, master’s degree preferred.
