We are presently recruiting for a Regional Business Solutions Manager position in our Virology business, reporting to the Senior Manager National Partnerships - Virology. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating and managing strategic partnerships with key Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) clinics and health care practitioners across the region. Through an innovative approach, the Regional Business Solutions Manager collaborates closely with all members of the unit, has strong project management and networking skills. This position is field based, and the selected candidate would ideally reside in assigned geography.
Key responsibilities
Understand the patient journey and the cascade of care flow for each major HCV clinic (including Opioid Substitution Therapy settings, prisons, immigrant & indigenous communities).
- Understand the screening and diagnosis process for the HCV illness.
- Develop and implement clinic assessment programs to identify and map optimal models of care and behaviours.
- In collaboration with physicians, nurses and other health providers, share best practices in HCV clinical care, and offer comprehensive solutions to improve clinic workflow efficiency:
- Screening and diagnosis.
- Improve referral time.
- Reduce barriers in terms of the cascade of care.
- Help control patient leakage points & improve linkage to care.
- Be actively involved in the development of improvement initiatives to expand care in the more difficult to treat patient segments.
- Work in collaboration with cross-functional colleagues to bring added value insights that will strongly influence our HCV elimination strategic brand plan at community, provincial and ultimately national level.
- Initiate projects that follow the appropriate approvals and methodologies, including gathering and defining comprehensive requirements, ensuring strategic alignment, developing plans, budgets & schedules, forming cross-functional teams and reporting the respective project results to the field and brand team members.
- Develop, coordinate and implement key programs that support the HCV business unit.
Education / Experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, or related field is required.
- Relevant project management experience with a proven track record within the biotech / pharmaceutical industry:
- Sales experience. Minimum of five to six years
- Account management, market access, marketing expertise in diverse businesses (health care, consumer, media, digital, etc.) is a plus
- Familiarity with the HCV indication considered a strength
- Knowledge of digital / virtual programs deployment is an asset
- Understanding of related HCV disease areas and market competitors
- Must demonstrate an understanding of how to effectively meet both AbbVie and customer needs in a complex environment through innovative approaches.
Essential skills and abilities
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must be at ease with technology (the use of various virtual tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks).
- Travel required about within Canada 40-50% of the time.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
