Overview
The Customer Account, Senior Specialist (Walmart) is a strategic, client-facing professional responsible for driving growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction across key accounts. This role blends account management, customer centric sales execution, and supply chain optimization to deliver value for both the company and its customers. The position requires a proactive, collaborative, and analytical professional who can build strong relationships, execute cross-functional initiatives, and champion a customer-centric mindset throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Leadership
- Work collaboratively with team on assigned top-tier customer accounts, including major retailers like Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco and other strategic partners.
- Support joint business planning with customers to drive volume, profit, and market share growth, aligning with both company and customer strategies.
- Develop and implement annual customer plans, including supporting new item launches, promotional strategies, and category management initiatives within Nestle and through proficiency in customer systems.
- Proactively manage, monitor, and update business plans to meet or exceed sales objectives, leveraging data-driven insights and market trends.
Customer Centricity & Collaboration
- Embed customer-centric behaviors (proactive, transparent, reliable, accountable, collaborative, resourceful) across all interactions.
- Partner with internal teams (Sales, CD, Supply Chain, Marketing, Data & Reporting) to deliver a consistent, differentiated, and business-valuable customer experience.
Supply Chain & Service Excellence
- Own service level metrics for Walmart & Sam’s Club and drive cross-functional focus to improve product availability and performance at the point of sale.
- Leverage technology to increase visibility on downstream performance and identify opportunities for efficiency and growth.
- Lead and support complex planning, forecasting, and execution projects that enhance sales administration and field execution.
Commercial & Financial Stewardship
- Supports commercial spend, including administration, record keeping, reconciliation, and tracking to achieve sales and trade spend goals.
- Collaborate on financial reconciliation and forecasting, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
Leadership & Development
- Mentor and coach junior team members and analysts, fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment.
- Actively communicate with team leaders, cross-functional partners, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and excellence in execution.
Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of cross-functional experience in supply chain, sales, or account management; experience with major retailers is a plus.
- Proven track record in sales/account management and support, within a manufacturer, distributor, or retail environment.
- Strong analytical, project management, and negotiation skills; proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, syndicated data tools (e.g., Circana, Nielsen) and Walmart/Sam’s specific data systems.
