DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented School to Work – Purchasing student to join our team specializing in Purchasing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Troy, MI .
*This position will require 2-3 days of on-site work in Troy, MI.
Directly assist the Global Purchasing Solutions team with various activities designed to achieve continuous improvements, compliance, reporting, and data integrity. This role will support in project execution, assisting with the preparation of reports, and aiding in system-related support and tasks such as maintenance, data entry, and responding to user inquiries from the Purchasing department. Involvement with cross-functional teams.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Support projects managed by the Global Purchasing Solutions team and collaborate with key stakeholders
• Responds to system inquiries, resolves issues, and provides guidance to the Purchasing teams
• Compile and enter data into various systems and databases, ensuring completeness and integrity
• Perform routine system tasks, such as updating records, generating reports, and processing workflows
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong analytical and time management skills
• Able to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Self-motivated to learn and grow as an employee
Education/Experience:
• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Currently a student in either high school or college/university preferably majoring in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
Compensation:
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
