We're seeking someone to join our Enterprise Technology team as a Lead z/OS DB2 Database Administrator in Enterprise Z DB division. The Enterprise Z DB2 for z/OS Database Administrator will join a team of seasoned professionals responsible for delivering essential support services for DB2 on z/OS. This role encompasses database design, maintenance, migrations, application performance optimization, troubleshooting, disaster recovery, and scheduled as well as production database support.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a z/OS Database Administrator position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for providing specialist data analysis and expertise that drive decision-making and business insights as well as crafting data pipelines, implementing data models, and optimizing data processes for improved data accuracy and accessibility, including applying machine learning and AI-based techniques

What you'll do in the role:

  • Provide comprehensive lifecycle management for mission-critical DB2 databases, utilizing advanced tools and methodologies.
  • Participate in ongoing capacity planning, including database growth analysis, system utilization monitoring, trend analysis, and forecasting of future resource requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, legal, and compliance standards, including SOX and audit requirements.
  • Develop and enforce database standards and best practices for application development teams.
  • Collaborate effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Deliver timely and effective resolution of production DB2 issues.
  • Prepare management reports using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Participate in off-hours on-call support as required.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Career experience of 12-16 years & Minimum of 7 years’ experience administering DB2 for z/OS databases in an enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency with DB2 for z/OS, version 12 or higher – preferred Db2 for z/OS v13.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-terabyte databases and supporting high-throughput OLTP applications.
  • Expertise in DB2 data sharing environments.
  • Strong understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Advanced skills in logical and physical database design.
  • Proven ability in application performance tuning, including complex SQL optimization.
  • Extensive experience with Mainframe JCL and REXX scripting.
  • In-depth knowledge of DB2 DDL, utilities, security, and maintenance processes.
  • Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong time management, independent judgment, and decision-making capabilities
  • 6+ years of relevant experience to perform this role.
