Job Summary
Acts as the technical specialist and primary customer support contact, independently diagnosing, troubleshooting, and completing repairs on Cummins products at a single customer site. The role focuses on minimizing equipment downtime, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring safe, high-quality service delivery in compliance with Cummins standards and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently diagnose faults and complete mechanical and electrical repairs on engines, power generation systems, and ATS at customer sites.
- Serve as the primary customer contact, ensuring prompt and efficient response to service needs to minimize product downtime.
- Maintain productive and professional customer relationships through clear communication and customer-focused service delivery.
- Coach customer technicians and/or less experienced technicians on preventive maintenance and repair activities; may provide work direction and review repair plans, parts lists, and tool requirements.
- Manage parts, tools, and spare inventory at the work site to ensure availability and accuracy.
- Escalate unresolved or complex technical issues to supervisors or product specialists in a timely manner.
- Complete all required service documentation including service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents using handwritten forms or business systems.
- Identify and communicate additional service and sales opportunities at the customer site.
- Complete required technical and safety training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
- Ensure full adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and legislation; proactively report incidents, hazards, or near misses to site management and supervisors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualifications
- Apprentice Certified Power Generation and/or Engine Technician.
- Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution (preferred).
- Current relevant electrical certification (optional).
- Locally valid driving license/permit.
- This position may require licensing or authorization to comply with export control or sanctions regulations.

- Proficiency in MS Office applications for documentation, reporting, and communication.
- Basic working knowledge of engines and ATS (Automatic Transfer Switches) .

- Engine Systems Interaction : Understands and analyzes electrical and mechanical system interactions including fuel, cooling, exhaust, aftertreatment, controls, sensors, and driveline systems.
- Product Repair & Maintenance : Performs quality repairs within standard repair times, ensuring correct assembly, cleanliness, and adherence to reuse and progressive damage guidelines.
- Service Documentation : Accurately records service activities, technical findings, and customer/equipment data in service management systems.
- Technical Escalation : Effectively escalates complex issues using available resources while ensuring timely customer response.
- Health & Safety Fundamentals : Champions proactive safety behaviors to support an injury-free workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- Significant field service experience in power generation and/or engine products.
- Extensive hands-on knowledge of engine systems and related equipment.
- Basic understanding of competitor products and standard industry practices.
- High Voltage / Low Voltage practical experience (optional).
