DESCRIPTION
The Financial Analyst role is responsible for preparing financial analyses and reports to support department managers and business leaders. This position supports annual budgeting, expense and staffing forecasts, statistical reporting, and month-end close activities. The role operates within Cummins Digital Business Services (CDBS) locations (Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Hosur) and ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective collaboration with stakeholders while driving continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial analyses and reports for department managers and business stakeholders.
- Support assigned organizational units in developing annual budgets, expense forecasts, staffing forecasts, and statistical reports.
- Support month-end close activities, including preparation and consolidation of financial data.
- Prepare and analyze statistical and financial reporting, including performance metrics, variance explanations, and cost analysis.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial data and reports in line with internal controls and policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support operational needs and business decision-making.
- Execute special projects and ad-hoc financial analyses as assigned.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives within accounting and finance operations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is required.
- Bachelor’s degree from a college, university, or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
Skills and Experience
- Minimal relevant professional work experience in the field of study is required.
- Internship or work exposure with manufacturing companies and/or Big 4 firms is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, GST, and Customs is preferred.
- Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Ability to interpret financial data, analyze trends, variances, risks, and opportunities, and provide meaningful insights to stakeholders.
- Experience preparing and presenting financial reports in compliance with regulatory and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to support business partnering by aligning financial insights with organizational goals and strategies.
