We are seeking an INDIRECT TAX COMPLIANCE MANAGER to join our team.
The Indirect Tax group provides Morgan Stanley with global in-house expertise, primarily in VAT/GST and US Non-Income Tax. The team in Budapest has recently increased its global footprint and become the central location of the global indirect tax coverage.

What you’ll do in the role:
Review Morgan Stanley’s indirect tax returns and become the focal point of assigned countries in EMEA/APAC/JAPAN jurisdictions
Oversee tax return preparation, support and guide junior team members
Perform detailed reviews of indirect tax returns and relating balance sheet and expense reconciliations.
Improve the automation and standardization of various processes.
Contribute to projects, support tax audits and work closely with key contacts across locations.
Develop practical knowledge of the Firm's business and understand how your role fits into it.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or related field and min 5 year of experience preferably in the area of indirect tax compliance
Persistent approach to problem solving
Deep organizational skills and ability to deal with multiple issues and under pressure.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
Fluency in English
Sound numeric skills and accuracy.
People management experience is an advantage
Professional accounting or tax adviser qualification/studying (ACCA, CIMA, CTA or equivalent) is an advantage
Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Power Apps, Alteryx) is an advantage
