We’re seeking someone to join our FRPPE Tech team as a Snowflake Engineer, in Finance Technology to Infrastructure Data Ingestion team.

This is Associate position that manages and optimizes the technical environment and end-user experience across various workplace technologies for end-users, ensuring seamless operations and user satisfaction across the organization.

What you’ll do in the role:
Establishing database governance policies and standards for Snowflake and other database adoption and onboarding processes.
Supporting daily operations by automating database maintenance activities.
Fostering a culture of Continuous Delivery to improve software development and deployment experiences.
Automating the migration of database objects to higher environments in Snowflake and Teradata.
Monitoring database system metrics to ensure optimal performance.
Automating the generation of database plant usage metrics.
Performing regular database cleanup and generating alerts for maintenance activities.
Automating and extending partition management, historical data purging, and archiving processes.
Setting up databases, managing permissions, modeling database objects, and validating database model standards in non-production environments.
Automating object and data migration across different databases.
Facilitating data transfers between Snowflake and Teradata using export/import utilities specific to each technology.
Converting DDL from Teradata to Snowflake.
Automating benchmark tests for databases and application migrations.
Use if AI for automation of complex processes.
What you’ll bring to the role:
At least 4+ years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role with Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
In Depth Knowledge of any database like Snowflake/Teradata/DB2 RDBMS, clear understanding about OLTP/Batch processing, transaction management, Locking concepts.
Clear Understanding about various modeling techniques.
Should be able to understand query/explain plan of the query and figure out issues with query, predicate analysis, statistics analysis.
In depth knowledge of Python, object-oriented programming using Python.
Understanding of core development principles and processes.
Proficient in using code repositories, specifically GIT.
Practical knowledge of XML, JSON, and YAML for data processing.
Experience working with cloud-based databases is a strong advantage.
Preferred Skills
Hands-on experience in AI, data science, or research domains.
Experience with job scheduling tools, such as Airflow, Autosys, or Jenkins.
Practical experience in data engineering operations, including data export/load processes and object migrations.
Detailed knowledge about Power BI is huge plus.
