Power Generation Field Service Technician

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Power Generation technician to join our team in Val D’Or.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Establish and continually develop productive customer relations and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
- Apply the use of specialized tools and follow documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer site.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.
- Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
Qualifications
- A copy of your red seal or trade diploma will be required
- A copy of a 5 years driver's abstract will be required
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
Training, diplomas, certifications:
- DEP in heavy vehicle mechanics OR construction machinery.
- DEP in electromechanics with experience on diesel engines will also be considered.
- Valid driver's license.
- This position may require permits to comply with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Advanced mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance skills.
- Experience in high voltage / low voltage.
- Basic experience with diesel engines.
- Experience with high-power generator equipment is an asset
- Experience in planned maintenance.
- Load bank experience
- ATS Understanding/Experience
- Customer Service Experience
About the position:
- The position is daytime — Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The candidate must be available for service calls outside of regular working hours.
- The workload includes servicing, maintenance and repair on generator sets for our customers in the Val D'Or area (hospitals, data centers, etc.)
- Salary starting at $55.00 per hour plus bonuses
- Cummins is offering a $5000 hiring bonus for this position.
- Bilingual French/English preferred (French is necessary for this role)
- Willing to travel for training and customer support
