As a Senior Staff Failure Analysis Engineer, you will develop and implement methods and procedures for identifying root cause of a failure in the product. You will design appropriate test methods and equipment specifications for product specific failure analysis. You will be responsible for developing and applying advanced circuit and electrical system test methods. Collaborates with service operations and R&D on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to product quality improvements.
Note: This role can be located onsite in Kalamazoo, MI OR can be hybrid in Kalamazoo, MI (with the expectation that you will be in the office 2-3 days a week but will have the flexibility to work from home on the other days) We are also open to relocation to the Kalamazoo, MI area.
What You Will Do
Work closely with service operations and the business functions to ensure quality performance of product and processes.
Collaborates with Divisional QA, R&D and Regulatory teams to address top quality issues.
Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct advanced problem solving, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against component and product requirements.
Analyze and correct complex product design issues, using independent judgment.
Responsible for the development of “Failure Analysis Procedures” for use in failure analysis of product.
Handle multiple project streams in a fast-paced and collaborative setting.
Maintain key metrics to support service operations on customer repairs.
Support analysis of product related complaints and product field actions and recommend solutions.
Applies statistical methods of analysis and process control to current operations.
Engage and interface in internal and external audits providing subject matter expertise
Execute internal quality deliverables associated with engineering changes and manufacturing transfers.
Own Failure analysis procedure creation and updates through regulated change management process.
What You Need (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required
6+ years’ experience in engineering, quality, manufacturing, NPD or working in a technical role or high regulated environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
Previous experience in a regulated environment preferred
Ability to interpret, analyze, and test electrical designs.
Working knowledge of electrical design process, electrical components, and systems.
Ability to apply analysis tools and statistical methods.
Knowledge of system components and associated requirements.
