DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Product Functional Test Mechanical Tech – Level II – OFFC to join our team specializing in Engineering at our facility in Stoughton, WI, US.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Ensure reliable test readiness by building and tearing down test articles accurately, reducing setup errors and minimizing delays in the testing schedule.
Protect data integrity by installing instrumentation to engineering standards, ensuring accurate measurements and dependable test results.
Strengthen test execution by supporting tests according to established procedures, helping maintain consistency, repeatability, and compliance.
Improve efficiency by preparing fixtures, rigs, and equipment correctly the first time, reducing rework and maximizing lab productivity.
Increase result credibility by understanding how test equipment functions and how it influences data quality and validity.
Enhance technical insight by applying knowledge of the product under test to identify anomalies, contributing to more accurate root cause analysis.
Minimize downtime through effective test stand setup, troubleshooting, and proactive equipment maintenance.
Support team success by stepping into additional duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility, ownership, and commitment to overall program goals.

Execute testing with precision and discipline. Prepare samples, verify calibrations, configure setups, and run tests exactly to approved standards so the resulting data is accurate, traceable, and defensible.
Design and configure effective test systems. Select and integrate the right equipment, instrumentation, and software to meet test requirements while ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and capability alignment.
Protect and improve data quality. Organize documentation clearly, identify flaws in data, apply systematic problem-solving methods, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
Drive continuous improvement while valuing diverse perspectives. Use preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, contribute to process improvements, mentor others when needed, and respect different viewpoints to strengthen team performance and outcomes.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.
Regionally applicable certification or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Info:
- The ideal candidate for the role will be well versed in troubleshooting automotive systems such as wiring issues, J1939 CAN communication networks, and diesel engine performance issues
- Must be able to operate PIV, Hoist, and Crane
- Ability to troubleshoot complex problems
- Basic knowledge of Diesel Engines and Aftertreatment Components preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of computers and computer programs preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite programs
- Ability to multitask many priorities or assignments at the same time
