Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results. The incumbent will be part of VCA geographic team cluster of Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia (IPVMC) markets, and will be responsible for consulting engagements with Visa's clients in Vietnam. The team is involved in a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management, digital strategy and data-driven portfolio management decisions.

What a Senior Manager Data Science will do and learn at Visa:

The Senior Manager Data Science is a key member of the Asia Pacific Data Science team, reporting to the Data Science Lead for Vietnam. The role is based in Visa’s Vietnam office (Hanoi), with project support for Ho Chi Minh City clients as needed.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead end-to-end analytics engagements, from problem framing through delivery of actionable insights and recommendations.
• Define project scope, methodologies, and analytical frameworks, select and apply appropriate data mining and modelling techniques.
• Drive business development conversations by translating client needs into scalable data science solutions and clear solution architectures.
• Communicate insights effectively, influence decision-making, support implementation, and track realized business value.
• Develop compelling client storylines with a clear “so what,” logical flow, and prioritized actions.
• Leverage VisaNet, client, and third-party data to build advanced, data-driven solutions.
• Innovate through the use of non-traditional data sources and fit-for-purpose modelling techniques.
• Engage confidently with clients and manage complex internal and external stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

What you will need:

• A strong track record of using data science and analytics to unlock business value in client-facing environments.
• Advanced degree (Master’s or higher preferred) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in banking, payments, or related industries.
• Deep expertise in applying statistical and machine learning techniques to real-world business problems.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale data extraction and processing (e.g., SQL, Hive, Spark).
• Proficiency in Python and/or other programming languages, and experience with ML/DL frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Practical knowledge of techniques including neural networks, gradient boosting, regression, decision trees, random forests, SVMs, clustering, PCA, factor analysis, and emerging areas such as Generative AI and agent-based approaches.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and diverse cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, innovation orientation, and client-centric approach.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
• In-market experience, including understanding of local language, culture, regulations, and industry trends.
• Willingness to travel 30% or more.
