We are looking for a talented Operations Excellence Specialist to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Manning, SC .
Job Summary:
Provides Operations Excellence support for all plants/sites. Guides and coaches to support progression towards a World Class Manufacturing organization under the guiding principles of the Cummins Operating System (COS) and the Operations Excellence Key Processes described in the Operations Excellence Guidelines. Contributes to improvement for the overall effectiveness of one or more functions. Consults and supports processes, capabilities, systems and data for the function aligned to end-to-end value stream performance goals. Partners to drive improvement activities within the function to deliver performance objectives of impacted value streams and improve outcomes for customers.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Drive operational maturity by applying continuous improvement tools and Cummins Operations Excellence Standards to strengthen processes and raise plant performance.
• Advance the Corporate Operations Excellence roadmap by supporting initiatives that move the plant toward targeted maturity levels.
• Partner with business and functional leaders to uncover true operational issues, identify improvement opportunities, and guide teams through successful implementation.
• Use your business knowledge to shape smarter processes , enabling internal plant functions to operate more efficiently and deliver better outcomes for customers.
• Align and prioritize improvement work by collaborating with end-to-end process owners and Ops Excellence peers to focus efforts where they will deliver the most value.
• Support and influence cross functional project success by contributing solutions and execution support across engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
• Solve basic to moderate manufacturing challenges and deliver measurable , meaningful improvements that enhance productivity, quality, and flow across the Cummins network.
• Develop into a subject matter expert by participating in knowledge sharing, learning initiatives, and continuous improvement activities that strengthen the plant’s overall capability.

• Plan and prioritize effectively , aligning your daily and project work with plant goals, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are used wisely.
• Adapt your style and approach to shifting priorities , unexpected challenges, and varying stakeholder needs to maintain progress and engagement.
• Apply continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., waste reduction, process mapping, standard work) to identify inefficiencies and drive cost, quality, and performance gains.
• Use structured problem solving techniques to trace issues systematically, find assignable and root causes, implement strong corrective actions, and help others develop these skills.
• Value and leverage diverse perspectives by recognizing that differences in culture, background, and thinking styles lead to better solutions and stronger team performance.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
• College, university or equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience required.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
• Minimal to intermediate level of relevant work experience, including manufacturing or manufacturing plant experience. Team or project leadership experience, beneficial.
Compensation (for United States)
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The
final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s
qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Learn & then promote Continual Improvement culture in the organization.
• Learn & then Coach Lean manufacturing Tools in the organization
• Learn & Facilitate Labor & Burdon (Cost saving) Project follow ups
• Learn AVIX application & then utilize this application to identify Non Value added actions in the processes.
• Work with Central operations excellence team to implement Cummins Operating Systems.
