We’re seeking someone to join our Fixed Income Product Control team as an Executive Director in ISG Finance to help support the needs of a growing business unit and the Finance support teams in both the NY and Baltimore offices.
In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm’s financial and capital resources within the Product Controller Job Family which specializes in ensuring adequacy of controls, profit and loss and balance sheet reporting and reconciliations for a segment / business / product area, as well as management reporting across business segments or cross functional end-to-end product oversight.

What you'll do in the role:
- Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
- Lead end-to-end processes and/or programs that require complex decision making, advanced understanding of client and stakeholder needs and subject matter expertise
- Understand and adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls; own risk and contingency plans for business area
- Act as a role model and culture carrier; embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and team accountable to Firm standards
- Act as a trusted advisor to the business on new lines of business and complex trade analysis
- Create and deliver presentations to senior stakeholders across the BU and Finance on business financials and market drivers
- Engagement with regional business unit clients and Finance colleagues as needed
- Ensure accuracy of the books & records of the firm and review of 10Q/10K disclosures
- Manage the quarterly and annual audit cycles for SPG Finance
- Understand evolving control environment within the business and mitigate risk to the firm
- Oversight of daily p&l reporting and control requirements for Securitized Products strategies
- Collaborate across groups and regions and deliver on multiple projects to improve Finance processes/Front to back initiatives
- Improve process efficiencies across NY and Baltimore teams
- Lead the SPG function for regulatory deliverables including annual and quarterly CCAR cycles, Volcker reporting, and regulatory exams with the FED, OCC, FINRA/SEC etc.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, industry, and competitive environment and technical skills, including risks and key regulations relevant to the division
- Strong technical skills
- Ability to inspire and support others by providing positive and constructive feedback and to acknowledge efforts of and promote team members
- Ability to manage risk and impact to functional area, and create plans to mitigate those risks
- An understanding of fixed income products and ability/desire to keep up-to-date with market news and drivers
- Knowledge of more nuanced accounting standards, i.e HFI/HFS is helpful

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $165,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
