DESCRIPTION
Cummins is looking for a Product design technician with some industrial experience to join its team in British Columbia.
This is a remote position opened to Vancouver island and Mainland residents
In this role, you will have the following impacts (but not limited to):
- Ensure model and drawing quality.
- Create and maintains product specifications utilizing Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing.
- Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) data management tools for configuration control and to maintain security.
- Ensure application of company, industry, national, and international standards.
- Process internal engineering work requests.
- Engage with required functional areas as needed.
- Check models and drawings prior to release.
- Work with engineering to generate concept models.
- Analyze adequacy of design using various design tools.
- Create Master CAD Models which are used to generate part tooling.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Experience with electrical equipment (engines, generators, transfer switches) is a strong asset.
- Experience with CAD modeling programs (SolidWorks, Creo) is also a strong asset.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.
- Regionally applicable certification or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
About the role:
- You will create submittal packages: Collect/highlight datasheets, create/markup drawings based on bill of material
- You will respond to customer queries based on submittal packages
- You will work with project managers and sales reps on projects
- You will manage multiple jobs/submittal packages at the same time
- This is a remote position opened to Vancouver island and Mainland residents
- Work schedule is Monday to Friday- hour days
