What you will do
The NPI Sourcing Lead (Hybrid) will provide input and analysis into the strategic sourcing activities of assigned suppliers and/or commodities; with goal to obtain the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management. The NPI Sourcing Lead will support and may lead the implementation of NPI project launches by utilizing a global tool kit, evaluating cost reduction ideas, supply base optimization, contract negotiations, global strategies, and supplier risk assessments.
They will be responsible for coordinating sourcing needs for new product development projects, including completion of supplier selection with agreement to Global Sourcing Strategy, regularly reporting material costs, managing schedules, and defining final material logistics. Acts as liaison for all sourcing activities to Design and Advanced Operations teams. This is a hybrid role. We are seeking a candidate in Cary, Il or the surrounding area. The employee is expected to be physically present at the Stryker location 3 days per week but has the flexibility to work from home 2 days per week.
Support development and implementation of NPI sourcing strategies for assigned projects supporting KPI’s, utilizing agreed tools and processes
Perform sourcing analysis and selection process utilizing the agreed global tools, including financial and non-financial input as required for clear sourcing decisions
Support implementation of contracts (i.e. Pricing Schedule, SOW, pricing agreements) per guidelines
Develop strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders in scope for the project
Appropriate advocate on behalf of supplier within the organization by providing a balanced viewpoint and holding suppliers accountable as appropriate
Support new product launches; supplier selection, requests for quotes, negotiations, awards, cost management, launch readiness, material supply management and handovers to sustaining procument.
Participate in supplier negotiations, focused on cost reductions. Driving RFQ’s, analyzing and assuring costs are tracked throughout the project, standards are accurately implemented and savings are captured for handovers
Effectively and timely communicate expectations to suppliers, escalate supply chain risks to project teams and management as needed, while developing mitigation plans in support of identified risks
What you need
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply management, Business, Finance, Operations management, Engineering or related field.
4 years of professional experience, of which at least 1 year is in strategic sourcing, supply management and supplier development
Ability to negotiate effectively to obtain best prices and terms on products, materials, and services
Knowledge and application of supplier contract strategy, negotiations, contractual terms and contract administration
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of new product development process
Strong understanding of procurement/strategic commodity management
Medical device, pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry experience
Manufacturing management, buying, production planning experience
85,500.00 - 142,500.00 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
