Job Description

Your Team

You are part of the Corporate Functions Data Governance team within GBS, supporting a diverse set of business partners across Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance, and other Corporate Functions. You work closely with the GIDS leadership team to enhance metadata, taxonomy, and governance practices across Invesco. While you do not manage direct reports, you play an essential role in enabling, supporting, and collaborating with analysts, project teams, and global data stakeholders.

Your Role

  • As a Manager in Data Governance (Corp Functions), you are responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of Invesco’s Metadata Dictionary and Taxonomy.
  • You steward metadata content, partner with business and IT teams to ensure proper definition and reuse and serve as a subject matter expert on the Informatica Metadata tool.
  • You produce governance metrics, provide training and guidance, handle process escalations, lead documentation and knowledge retention, and drive continuous improvement through problem-solving and brainstorming initiatives.
  • You also support GIDS leadership in achieving team objectives and champion the use of metadata and taxonomy across Corporate Functions.

The Experience You Bring

  • 5–8 years of experience in a data role, ideally in financial services.
  • Strong understanding of the use and importance of metadata in business and IT processes.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and industry practices.
  • Ability to model data relationships and translate them into business concepts for metadata and glossary development.
  • Experience developing training materials and procedure documents.
  • Skills in process management, project management, analysis, reporting, and problem‑solving.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and training abilities, enabling effective partnerships with business and IT teams.
  • Experience with metadata management tools (preferred; training provided as needed).

Academic requirements

  • Educated to Postgraduate (PG) level.
  • IT or finance‑related industry certifications are preferred.
