About the Role:
We are seeking a Principal Engineer to drive the design, architecture, and delivery of large‑scale, high‑performance platforms supporting our Fixed Income Credit Research and Global Liquidity platforms. This role is a senior technical leader who will influence our technology strategy, modernize mission‑critical systems, and ensure our platforms meet the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of deep engineering expertise, strong asset management/finance domain knowledge, and the ability to lead technical direction across multiple teams.
Responsibilities of the Role:
Architecture & Technical Strategy
Lead architectural vision and long-term technical strategy for enterprise financial systems.
Design scalable, distributed, cloud-native platforms supporting trading, investment, risk, and analytics workloads.
Establish technical standards, best practices, and architectural patterns across engineering teams.
Evaluate emerging technologies and drive adoption where they add business value.
Engineering Execution
Build and deliver high-performance services with strong focus on reliability, security, and scalability.
Guide engineering teams through complex problem-solving, performance tuning, and modernization efforts.
Oversee design reviews, code quality, and system reliability engineering practices.
Drive cloud adoption, microservices, API-first architecture, and automation across CI/CD pipelines.
Domain Expertise in Financial Systems
Translate financial business needs into scalable, compliant technical solutions.
Architect systems for market data ingestion, trade lifecycle workflows, risk calculations, and reporting.
Ensure platform design adheres to industry regulations (e.g., SOX, SEC, FINRA, PCI, privacy standards).
Leadership & Collaboration
Serve as a senior technical authority partnering with product, business, architecture, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams.
Mentor senior engineers, fostering an engineering culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement.
Lead technical deep dives, architecture councils, and executive-level technical communication.
Operational Excellence
Ensure platforms achieve high availability, low latency, disaster recovery readiness, and strong observability.
Lead incident analysis, root‑cause identification, and systemic improvements.
Promote DevOps, SRE principles, and end-to-end platform resilience.
Requirements of the Role:
10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a principal/staff-level role.
Expertise building distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native applications.
Strong proficiency in one or more languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Go).
Experience with public cloud (AWS is a plus)
Solid understanding of financial systems, products, and data flows.
Exposure/Experience in Snowflake is a Plus
3+ years ReactJS experience
5+ years' experience in SQL Server/RDBMS
Demonstrated ability to lead architecture for large-scale, mission-critical systems.
Fixed Income knowledge is a plus.
Strong communication skills and ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
