The Operations Risk & Regulatory Control Division is a global team responsible for Control (Balance Sheet Control), Risk Oversight, Regulatory Reporting (Disclosure of Interest, Transaction Reporting), CTB Projects and International Tax operations. The Division has over 600+ team members across the Firm, with the majority residing in Baltimore, Glasgow, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Japan as well as with Vendors in Nagpur/Chennai.

We currently have an opportunity within the ORRC Disclosures of Interest (DOI) team that is setup in Mumbai, India, a team that is focused on fulfilling regulatory requirements including; Short Position Monitoring and disclosure, Substantial Shareholder position monitoring and disclosure, Takeover Panel Reporting and disclosures, Beneficial Ownership Disclosures as well as multiple other oversight functions to ensure Morgan Stanley is meeting reporting obligation and disclosing in line with Regulations. This role is a business-critical control role required to provide coverage across all DOI functions and regulatory reporting obligations, as well as to reduce the risk of regulatory breaches across the full suite of DOI functions.
The candidate should expect to build an intricate knowledge of US rules and regulations pertinent to the team, firm systems, data sources, as well as the processes that are in place to ensure compliance with regulations.
The individual will have diverse responsibilities, including but not limited to: -
> Management support for the oversight of daily DOI production processes which includes review and sign-off of daily reporting deliverables covering US Rule
> Responsible for managing the teams in India DOI and build/maintain a motivated and diversified workforce.
> Accountable for the soundness of the India DOI functions and maintains a strong relationship with stakeholder/counterparts regionally and globally.
> Lead & contribute to the US DOI Squad to drive system enhancement, strategic architecture design and data governance.
> Lead & contribute to the global ORRC/DOI risk agendas and associated activities.
> Lead & contribute to the governance of DOI function, supervisory framework and review operating model continuously to address regulatory changes, business growth and to achieve efficiency and better controls.
> The candidate should expect to build a good knowledge of US DOI rules and regulations pertinent to the teams, Firm systems, data sources, as well as the processes that are in place to ensure compliance with regulations.
> The successful candidate must work closely with stakeholders across the Firm.
> The primary relationships will be with the Regional & Global Head of DOI, Regional DOI leads, Compliance and Technology.
> Regular engagement will be required with the various DOI Governance Committee members and key stakeholders which includes Operations, Technology, the Business Units and Legal & Compliance
Skills Required: -
The ideal candidate may have: -
> 10+ years of experience in designing and managing regulatory or risk functions in Financial Services/Banking industry.
> Strong functional knowledge of operations and risk control
> Strong people management skills and experiences in managing a team.
> Excellent ability to analyse and assess impact of changes on existing processes and identify action required to comply.
> Excellent management, leadership, influencing and communication.
> Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
> Strategic and commercial thinking in designing and implementing creative and flexible solutions to problems.
> Strong ability to partner with colleagues across functions and lead effectively across geographical boundaries.
> Strong experience with MS Office (Excel, Power Point and Access)
> Experience in regulatory reporting, operational risk, compliance, or control teams.
> Strong data analytical skills - understands the strategic business needs and desired outcomes.

Shift time: 12 pm to 9 pm.
