About The Role
MSREI is hiring an Associate who will be based in the Sydney office with coverage over Australia and New Zealand real estate investments.
Responsibilities / Job Description
The Associate role provides broad exposure to a variety of real estate sectors across different structures (such as asset and share deals as well as operating platforms) and across the life-cycle of property investments.
- Contributing to transactions from a buy-side perspective on behalf of proprietary real estate investment funds, including opportunistic and core investment strategies
- Building financial models and preparing investment committee materials on new real estate opportunities
- Performing due diligence and assisting with the execution of acquisitions, including liaising with internal stakeholders and external advisors
- Supporting the execution of business plans for existing investments, including developing and maintaining working relationships with external asset managers and recommending asset management initiatives to drive value
- Undertaking market research, analysing trends and sharing insights with the team to help inform the strategic direction of the funds and identifying new opportunities
Qualifications / Skills / Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, investments, commerce or economics
- 4+ years of relevant investing experience in the real estate sector including knowledge of valuation principles
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex information quickly and accurately
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and succinctly
- Strong aptitude for numbers and experience with financial modelling
- Advanced use of Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrates strong project management skills and excels as a value team player
- Results-driven and able to perform well under pressure and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
