The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manages risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. The Commodities Division is a market leader in energy, metals, and agricultural product trading worldwide whose professionals trade in both physical and derivative commodity risk.
Brief Role Description:
We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Associate to join our Fixed Income Digital Assets team. In this position, you will play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives across Fixed Income and in partnership with other areas of the Firm. You will work alongside senior team members to advance high-priority projects, including emerging areas such as digital assets and tokenization. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of excellence, embrace significant responsibilities and stay current with industry innovations tailored for institutional clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination and Execution
- Support the execution of the Fixed Income Digital Asset strategy, contributing to initiatives related to tokenization, stablecoins, digital asset trading, custody, and settlement.
- Assist in the coordination of digital asset initiatives across Trading, Technology, Operations, Strats, Risk, Legal, and Compliance, ensuring deliverables stay on track.
- Partner with technology and operations teams to gather requirements, document workflows, and support implementation of digital asset‑related initiatives.
- Track project milestones, risks, dependencies, and action items across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Develop a working understanding of Fixed Income markets, trading workflows, and emerging digital asset operating models, applying that knowledge to execution tasks.
- Support alignment across global stakeholders (e.g., New York, London) through meeting coordination, materials preparation, and follow‑up tracking.
- Assist in identifying and escalating key risks and issues across project phases, spanning operational, technical, regulatory, and external considerations.
Process Improvement and Analysis
- Analyze existing front‑to‑back processes to support digital asset activity, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support development and documentation of process maps, procedures, and governance artifacts related to digital asset activities within Fixed Income.
- Assist in implementing standardized processes and reporting frameworks to support scalability, data integrity, and auditability.
- Conduct research on digital asset market structure, technology trends, and regulatory developments, summarizing implications for Fixed Income businesses.
- Support data analysis and preparation of management reporting, dashboards, and executive materials.
Change Management
- Support planning and execution of change management activities associated with new digital asset capabilities.
- Assist with stakeholder communications, training materials, and readiness activities to support successful adoption of new processes and platforms.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in a field such as investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or a related financial services role.
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills are essential.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely
- A strong work ethic, sharp attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment for Associate. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
