Global Markets Group is the offshoring arm of Morgan Stanley’s Sales & Trading businesses in India. It covers functions across IED ranging from those associated with sales, trading, analytics, Strat’s to risk management.
The candidate will be based out of Mumbai and will be primarily working with the Corporate Derivatives Desk Trading (Hong Kong/Singapore) along with regular support to Convertible Bonds Desk. The role suits a self-motivated, highly energetic individual who has a strong background in Financial Research / Trading Support & Analytics. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in statistical, technical, and fundamental analysis, as well as quantitative modeling. You will work closely with traders and strategists to enhance pricing models, optimize trading strategies, and improve execution efficiency.
What you’ll do in the role:
- Conduct fundamental and credit research on companies involved in Structured Financing and Structured Derivatives transactions.
- Analyze financial statements and build valuation models to assess intrinsic value across sectors.
- Support the Trading Desk on structured derivative pricing, risk assessment, and day to day trading activities.
- Perform statistical analysis and develop quantitative models to identify market trends and potential trading inefficiencies.
- Apply technical indicators and market trend analysis to inform and enhance trading decisions.
- Enhance and validate derivatives pricing sheets, including back testing of strategies and model performance.
- Automate and optimize existing workflows and analytical processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to strengthen trading tools, analytics frameworks, and identify/resolve trade related gaps impacting the risk book.
- Source and analyze data from Bloomberg, Reuters, and other relevant financial platforms.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline CFA (preferred but not must)
- 1-8 years’ work experience in Quantitative / Financial analysis roles, within Banking/Financial Services firms
- Strong programming skills in Python, VBA, R, SQL, or C++ for data analysis and automation
- Experience with statistical analysis (regression, time series modeling), technical indicators (momentum, volatility, trend analysis), and fundamental analysis (credit, earnings, balance sheets)
- Coursework/Strong understanding in Finance & Derivatives
- Good communication skills – written as well as telephonic. There will be regular communication with the trading desk and the person needs to be able to understand the requirements and express their thoughts clearly.
- High level of attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office products – Excel, PowerPoint
