Job Summary
The Health and Safety Technician – Level III provides technical support to production and site teams on health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices under the guidance of the site HSE leader. This role supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Health & Safety Management Systems, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements while promoting a strong safety culture across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Support
- Support implementation and sustainability of Health & Safety Management Systems
- Identify gaps in corporate and local HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Promote and embed a strong safety culture across site operations
- Ensure compliance with data protection, confidentiality, and recordkeeping standards
Incident Management & Risk Control
- Stop unsafe work and report hazards, incidents, injuries, or illnesses promptly
- Lead and participate in incident investigations and reporting processes
- Support hazard identification, risk assessment, and control implementation
- Track and support closure of corrective and preventive actions
- Analyze safety trends and recommend improvements
Audits, Inspections & Compliance
- Participate in and support health and safety audits and inspection programs
- Maintain compliance with local safety regulations and corporate standards
- Perform quality checks and identify non-conforming conditions or materials
Training & Awareness
- Deliver and support HSE training programs including emergency response training
- Create awareness and educate employees on safe practices and procedures
- Guide teams on proper incident reporting and safety protocols
Emergency Response & Safety Initiatives
- Support implementation and maintenance of emergency response processes
- Participate in safety, wellness, and employee engagement initiatives
- Contribute to building an interdependent safety culture across the organization
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve safety, quality, and processes
- Complete required training and support personal development
- Participate in initiatives to improve material flow, employee development, and operational efficiency

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two-year university degree or diploma in Industrial Safety or related field (preferred)
- Relevant safety certifications (preferred)
- May require licensing for export control or regulatory compliance

- Hands-on experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and corrective action tracking

- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including third shift as required
- Demonstrated commitment to safety culture and continuous improvement
- Ability to support shop-floor operations and engage with production teams effectively
