Jane Elizabeth is the Managing Editor of The News & Observer and The Herald Sun in Raleigh, North Carolina. Previously, Jane She led the American Press Institute’s project to improve and expand accountability journalism. She is a former deputy local editor at The Washington Post; and has taught journalism at Old Dominion University, the University of Pittsburgh and Point Park University. Jane’s work as a reporter, editor and manager at a total of five metropolitan U.S. newspapers has focused largely on politics and government. She holds a master’s degree in mass communications from Virginia Commonwealth University, and was a 2017 Knight Visiting Nieman Fellow at Harvard University.
