Tech is an industry with a longstanding gender gap and entering this industry can be intimidating for many.
Historically, the industry has lacked role models for young girls and women, and this male-dominated environment has made confident career advancement a challenge for femme presenting people.
But, things are changing for women in tech. The industry is being reshaped through education, inclusivity efforts, and the recognition of diverse talent. Many women who helped to blaze the trail to tech have worked diligently to minimize the barriers that they faced when entering the industry as a non-traditional hire.
That’s why Logicworks’ AWS Platform Engineer, Zen Magnani, will be joining us to share her story. As a woman in the cloud industry who grew up with two engineers as role models, she knew early on that working in tech was a possibility. Zen Magnani knows that you can’t be what you can’t see. That’s why she wants to dive deeper into the different ways that women can enter the cloud industry.
She will openly discuss the opportunities available to underrepresented job-seekers, how to overcome the challenges ahead, and grow your career in a notoriously difficult professional realm.
In this chat she will discuss:
Zen is an AWS Cloud Platform Engineer at Logicworks. She has given presentations at several technology conferences and enjoys paying her successes forward. Bold, straightforward, and a brilliant thinker and innovator; she aspires to help other women achieve their goals – in life and in STEM.
