And at Expedia Group, they’ve reserved the entire month of August to celebrate Indigenous peoples.
Malia Taito (Area Manager) and Grace Rea (Social Media Manager - Global Cross-Brand Strategic Initiatives) will join us to discuss the origins of International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples —- and what workplaces need to do to ensure Indigenous peoples are seen, valued, and feel that they belong. They'll share how Expedia Group's Indigenous Diversity, Expedians & Allies (IDEA) group creates awareness and educates travelers and employees on the Indigenous perspective — leading with cultural continuity to reflect on the past and pave the way for the future.

Malia Taito (she/her/ʻo ia) has been with Expedia Group’s Market Management Team since October 2012. Her day-to-day role is leading the Hawaiʻi Market Management team, whose primarily responsible for account management, strategy implementation, and planning with lodging partners within the Hawaiʻi market.
Malia is also the co-founder and current Global President of IDEA (Indigenous Diversity, Expedians, and Allies) which is one of eight of Expedia Group’s Inclusive Business Groups.
In her free time, Malia enjoys going to the beach with her family, paddling, exploring new restaurants, and taking her two pitbulls on new adventures!
Grace (she/her) has been with Expedia Group since 2016, from their Melbourne and Sydney offices in Australia. She is currently in a Gig role in the Global Cross Brand Strategic Initiatives team in the Social Media org, on 'loan' from the Traveller Engagement and Loyalty (TEaL) team.
Grace is the current Global Vice President of IDEA (Indigenous Diversity, Expedians, and Allies) which is one of eight of Expedia Group’s Inclusive Business Groups, in addition to one of the founding ambassadors of our Australian Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Grace is a dog loving, travel seeking, AFL (Aussie rules football) fanatic and self-proclaimed foodie, with a small obsession with penguins!
