She Wished There Were a Course for "How to Go Back to Work After Baby"...So She Created One
I always knew I wanted to continue to work after having children, but when I went back full-time after my first and then second child, I found myself in tears on the kitchen floor more often than I'd like to admit. There were courses out there on every baby-related subject imaginable, but nothing about how to manage the professional and identity-shift to "working parenthood." A risk-averse lawyer by nature, my first inclination was absolutely not to start a company to solve this problem. But I felt so passionately about supporting new parents in this challenging time that I decided to give it a try, and in 2014, Mindful Return was born.
Lori Mihalich-Levin, JD, is an advocate for working parents and the founder of Mindful Return, a program that helps new parents return to work after parental leave. She is also a health care partner in BigLaw, the Chief Operating Officer of the Women's Leadership Forum, the author of Back to Work After Baby: How to Plan and Navigate a Mindful Return from Maternity Leave, and mama to two boys, ages 7 and 9.
I'm really curious how you developed the resources to start your business.
What has been your biggest lesson in managing your time for work, family, and being an entrepreneur?
How did you manage your time while working full time and starting a business?
I see that you are JD. Where did you find a JD advantage when you prepared/executed your business?

What do you say when your corporate job, ask about your business? (They may have seen it on LinkedIn)
I'm looking forward to know the time when it's possibly right to take this big leap and how having a full-time career can both act as a possibility as well as a challenge to go full-scale? Thanks!
