As society becomes more globally connected, many of us have the opportunity to access and learn from a more diverse set of people. Listening to others, building relationships, and offering up our own knowledge and experiences can be a powerful force of happiness and success both in and out of work. Genuine interest can drive positive dialog and turn into unexpected successes. Join Amanda Fornal, Business Strategy Consultant, as we discuss how to connect with others in and out of the workplace.
In this chat, you’ll learn:
Amanda has 20+ years of experience as a technology professional and business consultant. Outside of her corporate career, she is an explorer, photographer, diver, and documentary film maker. Amanda is a Fellow of The Explorers Club whose travels include over 100 countries/territories and all continents with the goal of growing and sharing her knowledge of the world through photos and films. She is keenly interested in ocean exploration, conservation, global health, and cultural understanding. In March of 2020, she launched Women in Exploration (WiE) whose mission is to promote the positive impacts that women have made in scientific exploration, field research, cultural learning, sustainability, and animal welfare. The WiE site is a catalyst for conversations and promotes the countless efforts of women and girls to make our world a better place. She hopes that highlighting these achievements will inspire more positive advancements and learning. For her “Love is…” project, Amanda interviewed over 600 people from more than 75 countries to discuss the cultural nuances of love.
