We all know that an ally is a person of privilege working to uplift marginalized groups and advance inclusion, but what does an ally actually look like?
Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to look (or identify) a certain way to be one. According to Andre Herring, Diversity and Inclusion Specialist at Spin, privilege is intersectional, so everyone has the ability to be an ally!
Join us as Andre shares his expertise about ways to leverage your intersectionality and empower others by practicing allyship.
We’ll talk about:
Andre Herring is a DEI practitioner with a specialization in allyship. He recently started as the Diversity & Inclusion Specialist for Spin, a Micro-mobility subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company after completing his graduate studies at Tufts University’s Diversity & Inclusion Leadership program. Andre finds his best way to inspire change in others is by being vulnerable. This act granted him much success in his previous career as a fundraiser within the social justice nonprofit space and continues to serve him today.
Andre extends his efforts outside of his role at Spin as a Medium writer, and a podcaster. He is based in the New York City area.
