We discovered how social responsibility is shaping the metaverse during a private networking event.

So much of what the metaverse will be is unwritten, and it’s essential that we help build it responsibly.

During an open discussion with Meta’s leaders in the wearables, avatars & identity, and social impact products teams—moderated by Maxine Williams, Meta’s Chief Diversity Officer—we discovered the role social responsibility plays in the metaverse.

The metaverse isn’t a single product one company can build alone. Just like the internet, the metaverse exists whether Meta is there or not. And while the metaverse will change the way we work, play, and spend time with our loved ones, it won’t be fully realized for another ten to fifteen years. This longer timeline gives us space to ask the crucial questions about how these products can be built with equity, inclusion, safety and integrity.

💻 Alongside a small group of product professionals, we:

  • Went behind the scenes with the metaverse’s women product leaders
  • Discovered how social responsibility is shaping Meta’s product journey
  • Discovered career opportunities with Meta
