I work at a fantastic company which is always saying they want us to invest in ourselves for professional development, but the company really struggles to support us with resources (such as dedicated time or money or events). I also find that mid-level managers are more often pulled into client problems rather than being able to perform as a people manager. Additionally, I’m more senior than most managers and have never been given constructive feedback in my nearly 5 years at this company. What is my best step to developing a meaningful growth path? Particularly, how do I create space with managers who rarely have time for me?
