Market: OptumCare company is a part of the Optum network of health care providers, whose mission is to connect and support providers by working together to deliver the most effective and compassionate care. The Mountain West Region Accounting Team offers support to AZ, UT, NV, CO, NM, and ID, for all accounting related matters. We work collaboratively with the individual finance teams to produce various financial reports and process information into the general ledger.
Position in this function is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of assigned journal entries, analysis, and reconciliations. Maintains assigned subsidiary ledgers and provides support to the accounting department.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements
- Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close
- Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
- Maintains monthly production summaries
- Reconciles various balance sheet accounts (focusing on revenue and AR)
- Investigate issues providing explanations for payment discrepancies
- Analyze and prepare financial statements
- Solve moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analysis
- Assist with or lead the month end quarterly end close process for assigned businesses or groups
- Perform work in a self-directed manner and works with less structured, more complex issues
- Assess and interprets customer needs and requirements
- Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
- Demonstrate solid attention to details and effective multi-tasking
- Contribute to team initiatives

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- 2+ years of experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Proven solid written and oral communications
Preferred Qualification:
- Healthcare industry or public accounting experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
