Job Summary: As a Senior Cyber Security Encryption Engineer, you will be joining Freddie Mac’s Data Protection/Applied Cryptography team to serve a crucial role of managing, securing, engineering and governing the enterprise data-at-rest encryption and SSH key management services. Other opportunities include Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Credential Management (CMS) systems, data tokenization and other data-in-transit/data-at-rest services for the Freddie Mac infrastructure and applications across multi-site enterprise cloud and data center environments. - Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of professional IT experience with implementation and administration of any database and folder level encryption and SSH key management service preferred.
- Experience with System Administration basics with Linux (CentOS, RedHat) and/or Microsoft Windows Server (and associated technologies such as Active Directory and Exchange). Experience operating and maintaining production systems in Linux and public cloud environments.
- Experience with basic Networking and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, cURL or related).
- Ability to manage all aspects relating to system administration including polices, keys, backup, log monitoring for unauthorized access, etc.
- Knowledge of AWS cryptography, encryption and key management best practices and policies.
- Experience in supporting encryption and/or security appliance devices.
- Experience with scripting tools to automate routine tasks using scripting languages including but not limited to Python, PowerShell and bash scripting.
- Exposure to varied operating systems – UNIX, Linux, Windows
- Understanding server/file encryption technologies, encryption key management and information security policies.
- Be able to manage all aspects including polices, keys, backup, log monitoring for unauthorized access relating to data encryption tool(s).
- Experience supporting/securing cloud-based services and implementing AWS cryptography, encryption and key management best practices and policies.
- Splunk Proficiency: Knowledge of Splunk for log management and analysis.
- Must be able to effectively perform both independently and collaboratively as a strong team contributor.
- Can work to help model and mentor team members.
- Ability to prioritize work without management direction and provide clear, documented status updates to the management and the team.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
