Compensation Range: 120000-160000 

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.  

Job Purpose

The Spokane Plant Manager is responsible for all Operations activities at our Spokane Valley, WA manufacturing facility. #SPK

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide overall management for site Operations functions, leading the various functions to deliver the results, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Implement and facilitate the EOS (EnerSys Operating System) with an emphasis on mentoring the team to reach goals and improvement plans across the site.
  • Drive and coach implementation of Lean manufacturing principles to the EOS standards.
  • Lead implementation of proactive safe work practices, processes and tools to set a constructive safety culture.
  • Ensure production capacity and resources are used effectively and safely to meet the production schedule and customer expected response times.
  • Using the EOS MDI(managing daily improvement) process to lead daily improvement to eliminate unfavorable variances and waste.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities and facilitate their implementation through insightful and critical thinking using Lean manufacturing tools.
  • Uphold product quality by ensuring processes are in place and followed
  • Oversee materials management functions with emphasis on cost, quality, delivery and inventory accuracy to drive increased inventory turns.
  • Manage overall facility uptime and drive Overall Equipment Efficiency in equipment 
  • Maintain quality program and ISO registration off the facility that is consistent with corporate level ISO certification
  • Prepare annual departmental budget including: staffing requirements, capital equipment, and operation expenditures and operate department within budget
  • Work with other ESA sites and departments to manage transfer of products from our NPI industrialization process into the Spokane plant
  • Assure the site meets all environmental and safety standards. Develop, implement and enforce methods and processes that ensure a proactive safe work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with other EnerSys team members and departments across the corporation to proactively resolve Operations issues
  • Address personnel, organizational, and any other problem that may arise within assigned scope of authority in a responsive, constructive, and effective manner.
  • Create and coach an inclusive and positive work culture, through our EOS tools, and development of and implementation of development plan for the team and its individual members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in field of technical science (engineering or science discipline) 
  • 10+ years in high volume assembly/manufacturing
  • 6-8 years supervisory experience
  • Previous plant manager experience
  • 4+ years working in a Lean manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work within an ERP system to manage a supply chain and execute production schedule to meet customer expectations.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to positively coach and motivate team  members and resolve conflict
     
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to manage independent site operations
  • Solid grasp of the major functions of production, materials, and human resources
  • Technical level of understanding to include basic electronics and mechanics
  • People management and leadership skills
  • Comfortable with quantitative analysis
  • Experience and driven results in Lean manufacturing.
