As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will be at the forefront of managing and developing systems on a global scale, playing a crucial role in ensuring the uninterrupted movement of the Aviation industry. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the messaging data in transit and ensuring the timely arrival of you, your loved ones, and all passengers worldwide. The systems you will manage are the backbone of over 1,500 aviation customers, transmitting a staggering 75 million messages daily across the Aviation community.

What YOU will do:
- You will implement architectural changes and customer-driven enhancements to complex systems involving our messaging infrastructures.
- You will assist the Infrastructure Architect with decomposing future specifications and system level requirements into sub-systems.
- You will work closely with the Technical Project Manager and Program/Product Value Stream Leaders to gather business needs and support the Collins Management System Gating process.
- You will support technical product roadmaps depicting the steps anticipated to help migrate our legacy Infrastructure into the next generation infrastructures.
- You will support the verification and validations of software and security patches and determine compatibility with our systems.
- You will be expected to work onsite in Annapolis MD 3 days a week.

Qualifications You Must Have :
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required.
- Prior experience with the full life cycle development of system development to include planning, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
- Prior experience developing and maintaining system infrastructure and process to include documentation
- Prior experience integrating with external systems operated by external companies or agencies
- Prior experience with hardware software integration for Linux and Ubuntu system.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Technical expertise in IBM COTS: MQ Series and RDQM
- Experience working in a Linux operating environment
- Understanding of the fundamentals of networking and systems configurations on large scale bare metal infrastructure systems
- Experience working in containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Kubespray to determine compatibility with existing hardware and OS system.
- The ability to understand vendor specifications on COTS Hardware (Dell, IBM, Oracle).
- Technical domain knowledge in the Aviation community
