Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time. Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Reliability System Safety and Supportability. Job Summary: As a Sr. Principal System Safety Engineer, you will report to the Site Executive completing tasks and/or supporting site operation. Additionally, you’ll have reporting responsibilities to external offices that may include the Raytheon Central Region Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager, the City of Dallas, and other customer assigned points of contacts. You are an integral participant in the design/development process and are responsible for performing risk analyses to identify risks and influence design to eliminate or minimize safety hazards. In this role, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team responsible for both Software and System Safety. This job is posted as ONSITE and is based in Dallas, TX Responsibilities to Anticipate: Specific responsibilities may include:
- Develop, foster, and maintain relationships with Raytheon Safety, DCMA (Defense Contract Management Agency) partners and other Program stakeholders.
- Engage with the site Leadership Team (LT) and tenant customers to communicate significant safety initiatives and policy changes that may affect site personnel.
- Administer DCMA Instruction 8210 requirements, while managing Instruction deliverables.
- Act as the Site DCMA Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing advice and guidance to site personnel relative to DCMA engagements, issues, and concerns.
- Utilize analytical tools and methods to identify and develop solutions for systemic customer concerns, identify and implement Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) initiatives. Measure and monitor customer satisfaction while informing the site LT of negative audit trends.
- Serve as a Safety representative for all site activities that may include development of job safety analysis, incident investigation lead, issuing Hot Work permits, managing site confined space program, etc.
- Author, revise and maintain configuration control of site Ground and Flight procedures.
- Oversee facility safety requirements and ensures completion.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Site Executive.
- Obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance
- Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 10 years of relevant Software Safety Engineering, Software Engineering, System Safety Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position
- Leadership experience
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- DoD Ground or Flight Safety Qualifications.
- Experience performing as a Government Ground Representative (GGR).
- Experience executing functional responsibilities in support of Development, Production and Sustainment Programs.
- Knowledge of DCMA Organization structures and functional roles and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of key DCMA related FAR / DFARs (252.228.7001, 223.370, 252.223-7002, 252.228-7005).
- Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements.
- Knowledge of applicable NFPA regulations and NAS3306 Rev4.
- Prior experience operating at a commercial airfield to include working with Boeing 737 series aircraft
- Strong organizational, collaborative and communication skills to include writing presentations and technical reports.
- Familiar with OSHA compliance
- Earned Value (EVMS) Certification
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-882
- Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
