Date Posted:2024-04-01 Country:United States of America Location:MA301: Burlington, MA 3 Van de Graaff Drive Suite 100, Burlington, MA, 01803 USA Position Role Type:Onsite The United States Space Force (USSF), responsible for space launch, satellite operations, surveillance of the space environment, satellite defense, and some missile defense functions has contracted with Raytheon to build a new facility located in Japan. The scheduled start of construction is planned June of this year and has an estimated duration of 6 to 8 months however it is possible that this project could start earlier. As a temporary Site Construction Engineer (SCE), you will be the Raytheon construction team’s SCE responsible to oversee all daily site construction activities, monitor project schedules vs progress, generate project progress reports (daily, weekly, and monthly), interface with the customer and subcontractors, attend site meetings, notify and coordinate all construction activities onsite with the local stakeholders. You will also regularly report to the Raytheon project engineer who will be working in the US. He or she will also provide any technical support that may be required. Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- The Site Construction Engineer will serve as the designated technical representative on-site overseeing all day-to-day construction activities.
- The Site Construction Engineer will observe engineering practices and take corrective action as necessary to ensure that proper procedures are followed with that expected from design and functional requirements.
- Monitoring the progress of the Construction works to achieve the approved milestones.
- Establishing effective communications and dialogue with relevant Authorities and Subcontractors.
- Maintain the Daily/Weekly Reports of the Construction team’s daily activity.
- The preparation and issue of the Weekly Site Report and providing input to the Project Monthly Report.
- The preparation of the Construction Close Out report.
- Monitor Environmental Health and Safety
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
- Experience as a supervisor in the general construction field, including new facility construction, upgrades of existing facilities, and other related construction work.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to read, interpret and make changes, if required, to engineering drawings and specifications supplied to construction subcontractors
- Understanding of critical chain management activities
- Ability to understand, implement and evaluate construction workmanship and quality standards as specified by mechanical, construction and civil engineering and quality assurance authorities.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering with a background in Construction Management
- A strong background in Civil Works.
- Knowledge of US building codes and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in difficult situations.
- Candidate must possess very good written and verbal communication skills.
