The Manager, Medicare Markets is passionate and motivated by Healthfirst’s mission and wants to make a lasting impact in healthcare. This individual will create significant impact by working cross functionally to develop, assist in execution, and continuously improve upon a product strategy that supports profitable growth and high quality. This role is responsible for improving product performance by leveraging analysis of the membership, competitive landscape, plan design, pricing, and an understanding of the impact of new and existing laws and regulations impacting the product portfolio. This individual will support the team to establish market/product priorities and serve as a thought leader on this market/product area. Job Description Duties/Responsibilities
- Active analysis of complex financial reports with a P&L mindset to identify areas of performance improvement opportunity and to make informed business decisions.
- Leverage market and competitive intelligence reporting that summarizes and provides updates on the competitive landscape to help identify new opportunities based on market trends and changing regulations.
- Identify key member cohorts and opportunities for achieving short- and long-term membership growth and retention strategies.
- Work collaboratively across lines of businesses, including finance, clinical, medical economics, risk adjustment, and population health strategy implement Medicare strategy for profitable performance and ensure seamless partnership and alignment across the enterprise.
- Drive innovation and develop solutions to continually improve product performance.
- Lead presentations for on-going management meetings (i.e. monthly operating reviews) and be able to communicate business updates effectively to all levels of leadership.
- Well versed on all aspects related to all Medicare products
- Must be able to perform additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Excellent Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills
- Strong understanding of the healthcare industry marketplace, specific to Medicare Advantage
- Self-motivated and driven
- Understand and translate highly complex concepts to a wide range of audience.
- Strong financial, analytic, strategic and problem solving skills; must be able to successfully facilitate sound business objectives within a regulated industry. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion of sensitive and/or confidential matters.
- Ability to identify areas of opportunity, develop plan of action, communicate effectively, and execute within project timelines
- Strong public speaking and oral and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of the healthcare industry marketplace, specific to Medicare Advantage
- Team player who contributes to creating a positive work environment and willing to pull their sleeves up to get things done with a bias towards action and prototyping towards a solution.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adjust to changes quickly while meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a desire to continue learning and growing. This means you want to go above and beyond to understand the business context.
- Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $100,900 - $145,775
- All Other Locations (within approved locations): $86,500 - $128,690
