You will be required to conduct inspection of a broad range of fabrications, subassemblies, assemblies, component parts, purchased material, and tooling to assure compliance with customer and NG specifications and standards.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma/GED
- Must have fluent reading and writing in English.
- Minimum 3 years of receiving inspection or mechanical inspection experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings/blueprints, GD&T, parts list, and material specs (Mil-spec, ASTM, AMS etc.)
- Ability and experience using various handheld (manual and auto) inspection tools.
- Knowledge of quality processes, problem-solving, and writing nonconforming parts.
- Ability to complete basic shop math equations and problem-solving.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Setup and operate CMM and/or Faro arm.
- SAP Knowledge
- Review and verify incoming purchase orders, parts, materials and related documentation received are in compliance with established specifications and standards.
- Understanding and knowledge of verifying chemical and mechanical properties of the materials heat report.
- Familiarity with Reading NDT reports
- Experience working with DCMA.
- Inspect and test components, assemblies, tooling, weldments, and materials of various geometric configurations and processes as specified and randomly for compliance with established customer and NG specifications and standards where procedures and techniques are normally established.
- Identify and tag defective parts, material, and incorrect processes with appropriate inspection documentation.
- Setup and use measuring equipment including surface plates, optical tooling, and coordinate measuring machines where procedures and techniques are normally established.
- Apply analytical evaluation methods and calculations involving triangulation, compound angles, etc., as necessary throughout the inspection cycle.
- Serialize and maintain a log for parts, assemblies, tooling, etc.
- Perform mechanical and electrical functional acceptance tests on purchased and manufactured parts and materials such as Brinell & Rockwell hardness, non-destructive, spring, etc
- Review and verify that incoming purchase orders, parts, materials, and related documentation received are in compliance with established specifications and standards.
- Verify that inspection instruments such as micrometers, fixture gauges and thread gauges, etc., are within the designated calibration period prior to use.
- Perform similar or lower classified work as required.
- Inspection of materials from internal or external sources and services; involving physical inspection, documenting dimensional compliance and review of vendor certifications for compliance. This includes inspection of internally manufactured parts and final assemblies throughout all stages of production and review of final test data.
- Responsible for inspection of product in accordance with drawings, work instructions, quality acceptance procedures, and maintenance of acceptance documentation/records.
- Assist in generating and reviewing First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102.
- Assist with Customer Source Inspections.
- Responsibilities will include verifying calibration of tooling, gaging, and other equipment is valid and current.
- Inspection will encompass a variety of techniques, e.g., visual inspection, conventional metrology (height gages, gage pins, thread gages, and dial indicators), calipers, micrometers, functional gages, etc.
- Support project teams on nonconformance containment, corrective actions, root cause investigations, audits and other continuous improvement activities.
- Flexibility to work across multiple shop floors and manufacturing areas.
- May require flexibility to work overtime.
