Optum Laboratory has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals. Hours: Monday through Friday a 40-hour work week between the hours of 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Rotating Saturdays between the hours of 8:00 am to 11:00 am. The schedule to be determined by the hiring manager upon Hire. Location: 2405 Research Parkway, First Floor Colorado Springs, CO 80920 Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure all patients and guest feel comfortable and welcome
- Accurately obtain and enter information in a timely manner and according to standards in the appropriate EHR systems
- Enter, review, or register all patient demographic and insurance information, insurance eligibility, collections of payments or copays, posting of collected payments from patients and order entry of each arriving patient
- Be organized and able to multitask in multiple EHR systems to find, retrieve and enter the appropriate orders to be collected
- Work well by yourself and or ask for help as you will usually be working independently
- Work communicate well with many other teammates as there will be a constant stream of phone calls and questions from our clients, clinics, patients, and teammates
- All Lab PCC’s will be required to cross train to cover the other locations within Colorado Springs as needed
- All Lab PCC’s will be required to cross train to cover Saturday mornings at the 1625 MCP draw site 8am to 11am on a rotation basis
- All Lab PCC’s will be able to work in RIS system to ”arrive” and schedule Radiology patients as needed
- All Lab PCC’s will be able to work in LIS system to place patients orders in the Laboratory patients as needed
- All Lab PCC’s will be able to review and retrieve Lab results from reference lab systems as needed
- All Lab PCC’s will be able to professionally communicate well with other teammates, clinics, providers, and patients both in person and on the phone
- All Lab PCC’s will be able to know when to, and how to ask for help and clarify any questions or concerns brought to them by other teammates, clinics, providers, and patients both in person and on the phone
- All Lab PCC’s will be able to monitor waiting areas, screen and distinguish emergent or STAT situations, notifying the proper personnel as needed
- All lab PCC’s will be able to answer, handle, or redirect any questions about our organization to better help our patients
- All Lab PCC’s will be responsible for any other responsibilities assigned to them as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned

- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 1+ years of healthcare or customer service-related experience
- Intermediate level of computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel and Outlook be able to use multiple web applications
- 1+ years of experience working in medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
- Knowledge of EMR software
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Ability to work independently and as a team, and maintain good judgment and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others
