Role Description:Salesforce seeks a talented, self-directed, technical leader to manage software engineers on the Business Technology Application Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end management of tools, systems, and applications that support the Salesforce Global Sales Compensation ecosystem. You will collaborate with many teams across Business Technology, Sales Compensation, Compensation Design, and Sales Operation teams to scale and enhance Global Incentive Compensation systems for the unparalleled growth of Salesforce. Your Impact:You will be responsible for hiring and retaining top engineers, growing the team and each individual on it, and helping guide our technical direction. The team will focus on creating and improving Global Incentive Compensation systems and web applications to help us be the best incentive compensation team in the industry. Role Responsibilities:
- Hire and retain top engineering talent
- Assist in the growth of each employee through coaching and career development activities
- Assess the performance of direct reports according to corporate policies and procedures
- Drive design and implementation of innovative, impactful, and high-quality solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions to the organization
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to help define requirements and build to those requirements
- Maintain robust, trusted systems to support Global Incentive Compensation business
- Continuously improve policies, procedures, and technology
- Work effectively as part of a geographically distributed team
- Occasional travel is involved
- 5 years of experience in software development or information technology
- 5 years of experience with Salesforce CRM or other business systems development
- Capable of leading and motivating a team of engineers in a challenging, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
- Experience in Sales and Quote-to-cash business domains, with a more focused exposure on Sales Compensation processes (e.g. Compensation Planning, Design, Crediting, and Sales Commissions).
- Experience managing vendor partners and teams extended with contractors
- Delivery accountability for complex BT applications development including production operations
- Proficiency in a spectrum of delivery methods (Agile > Kanban > hybrid > waterfall)
- Ability to oversee multiple complex project deliveries in parallel
- A keen eye for Innovation, Engineering / Operational Excellence, and Automation
- Mulesoft Platform expertise preferred
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Exemplifies Salesforce Aloha spirit demonstrating key traits such as trust, integrity, character, and compassion
- Experience with Apex, Lightning, Tableau, Mulesoft, and the Salesforce.com APIs
- Experience with web application development including HTML, CSS, and Javascript
- Experience with Python, NodeJS, Heroku, Amazon Web Services
- Experience with agile/scrum methodology
