Date Posted:2024-01-10 Country:Canada Location:CA006, 25 Dunlop Ave, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2X 2V2, Canada Position Role Type:Unspecified As an Electrical Designer, successful candidates are knowledgeable in Transport Category aircraft electrical / avionics systems, associated airworthiness design requirements and are capable of designing the integration various equipment into an airframe. Typical design changes deal with interior systems such as lighting (including emergency lights), inflight entertainment systems, electrical power distribution, galley equipment, satellite communication and wireless networks, lavatory and waste/water systems. This is an onsite role that sits at our Winnipeg, MB site. Remote candidates will be considered. Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering work and applied research to design systems / products that satisfy the customer's functional requirements.
- Confer with procurement and mechanical design teams to source suitable equipment that will meet the customer's objectives, company design standards and safety requirements.
- Prepare system schematics that satisfy the customer's Statement of Work.
- Present proposed design concepts to internal/external customers in design review meetings.
- Produce wiring diagrams in accordance with company design standards using AutoCAD / Siemens NX.
- Prepare test plans to verify the system functions as intended on the aircraft.
- Conduct Electrical Loads Analysis and specify electrical load changes for proposed design changes.
- Provide technical input to aircraft modifiers, manufacturing personnel and/or wire harness assemblers regarding electrical / avionics design changes.
- Conduct aircraft survey to establish baseline configuration for design activities.
- Assist with on-aircraft testing or troubleshooting activities.
- Prepare certification documentation to demonstrate compliance for a specific design change.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient with AutoCAD 2018.
- Knowledgeable with Teamcenter or similar PDM systems.
- Working knowledge of Siemens NX.
- Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 25 Subpart F airworthiness design requirements.
- Knowledgeable / hands-on experience with aircraft electrical / avionics systems.
