You will work to achieve objectives that have major impact(s) on the Supplier Performance organizational goals. You will also use your expertise to drive Supplier Excellence by proactively working directly with High-Risk and/or newly Emerging Critical Suppliers in the following areas:
- Supplier On-boarding: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, & Continuous Improvement tools
- Supplier Risk Mitigation: Drive reduction in Escapes and Risk Assessment (RPN), through robust application of Root Cause / Correction Action toolsets
- Proactive Supplier engagement, driving improvements to Supplier Quality Signature, through on-site Supplier collaboration and coaching
- Manages existing and newly on-boarding Supplier quality issues through monitoring / escalation processes, escape management, processing of supplier submission of non-conforming material and supporting internal MRB processes
- Initiates part specific quality issue resolution and corrective actions.
- Leads Supplier Quality excellence through Supplier on-site coaching and collaboration in the areas of (but not limited to): APQP, PPAP, PFMEA development, Root Cause-Corrective Action (8D/DMAIC/Red-X), and overall Supplier qualification / certification
- Demonstrated experience and associated results using PFMEA and Control Plans to reduce RPN.
- Manages source inspection and material release processes.
- Drives Corrective Action Boards/DQ Clinics with suppliers.
- Analyzes quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier specific quality initiative strategies and addresses with key proactive quality tools (e.g., PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.), driving their implementation.
- Ensures that supplier is capable to meet all requirements for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.
- Work within a cross functional team supporting the Quality organization by managing and driving to closure of their activities and schedules.
- Travel to manufacturing sites and or supplier sites to lead and/or participate in Quality-related Continuous Improvement Events.
- Running and driving regular meetings with the Quality Leadership to understand status and open issues.
- Ability to effectively operate in a high-paced environment, with a bias for Action and Change.
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
- Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR
- In absence of an Advanced degree, 8 years of relevant experience is required.
- Robust working experience, including detailed examples of success, in Quality and Continuous Improvement
- Robust competency of AS9100 requirements
- Advanced knowledge and experience with RRCAs (Relentless Root Cause Analysis)
- Experience MS office suite. Creating PowerPoint presentations and advanced Excel skills, with the ability to create and utilize project plans and associated statusing.
- Able to travel up to 75%.
- Experience communicating and making presentations to senior level leadership.
- Experience working and interacting on a manufacturing shop floor
- Experience working in a central quality or manufacturing organization
- Experience leading RRCAs
- Experience with SAP, CATIA etc.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent
- Project Engineering background
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing
- Experience with AS9145 (APQP)
- CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) Certification
- Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM))
