Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an experienced level T03 engineer with experience in software development and either systems engineering or modeling and simulation. The successful candidate will be working as part of a program to integrate the AARGM-ER missile system with the F-35. The role of the M&S team in this effort will be to create a version of our AARGM ER simulator that can integrate with a larger simulation environment. The candidate will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be interfacing with subject matter experts in flight sciences, sensors, systems engineering, embedded software, and electronics engineering.This position will be located in Northridge, CA. this is 100% an on-site position. Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer - Operations Research ( T03) are:
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics AND 5+ years in software development or modeling, simulation, and analysis of Aerospace Systems, OR
- MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics AND 3+ years in software development or modeling, simulation, and analysis of Aerospace Systems, OR
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics AND significant experience in C++ or C, with strong knowledge of object-oriented development.
- strong practical experience with C++ or C. Should be able to answer specific technical questions about one of these languages, and basic questions about object oriented design
- Experience developing software in a Windows environment
- Demonstrable knowledge in at least 2 of: unit testing, software patterns, regular expressions, linux development, multi-processing, Modeling and Simulation, GNC, MBSE, digital/electronics engineering or SCRUM
- Must have a current government issued SECRET level clearance with ability to obtain a SECRET SAP level clearance
- Knowledge of AFSIM development experience in AFSIM development and/or operation
- Knowledge and experience in lethality modeling, particularly in using and developing AJEM lethality models
- Experience porting scientific algorithms or models into C++ or C
- Requirements development, analysis, verification and validation
- Experience in understanding, navigating, and preferably modeling in CAMEO.
- Demonstrable knowledge of python, preferably with a focus on PANDAS and/or SCYPI
- Experience in analysis and development in MATLAB
- Experience using Altassian tool chain (bitbucket, JIRA, etc)
- DevOps
- HPC computing
- Practical experience in Earned Value Management and/or Charge Account Management
- Experience in writing Bids for proposal and/or Bases of Estimates.
- Experience with sensor system algorithms or models
- Current SAP and/or SCI clearance
