Job Requisition ID # 24WD78074 Position Overview Do you want to help creative professionals in film and games achieve their artistic vision? Our Experience Design (XD) Team is part of Autodesk's Entertainment and Media Solutions (EMS) which handles 3ds Max, Maya, and more. EMS creates award-winning desktop and cloud software for the media and entertainment industries, used for 3d modeling, animation, rendering, VFX, film finishing, production management, and more. You will report to the Senior Director of Experience Design for Media & Entertainment Content Creation. As a Senior Experience Designer you'll apply your experience working on complex systems such as kinematics, physical simulations, and rendering. You'll help us build the best content creation tools for film, games, television, and visualization specialists. You'll collaborate with a talented team of User Experience Designers, Experience Architects, Product Managers, Developers, Software Architects, Content Designers, and Quality Assurance, to create compelling experiences that help creative professionals achieve their artistic vision. - Communicate customer requirements through storytelling, interactive prototypes, and other iterative artifacts which serve as part of a complete visual and functional design specification
- Lead presentations and discussions with customers and internal stakeholders to understand workflow problems and validate designs
- Maintain familiarity with other Autodesk products and competitive products to ensure viability with proposed solutions
- Create design/interaction patterns and related style sheets to drive consistent customer experiences
- Partner with other User Experience Designers in the creation & application of design patterns across the company
- Partner with development teams to help drive successful implementation of design/interaction patterns and deliver quality experiences to our customers
- 5+ years of professional design experience
- Ability to visualize and prototype intended solutions at different levels of fidelity, from high-level wireframes or mock-ups to conceptual presentations to technical documents and diagrams
- Experience presenting designs to different audiences, including developers, QA, learning content designers, marketing, and leadership
- Experience with human-centered design methods and practice
- Data-driven design experience with a focus on solving customer challenges
- Ability to bring order & simplicity to complex interactions
- Ability to build connections and influence others
- Familiarity with customer research methods, such as interviewing, contextual inquiry, usability testing
- Experience breaking down complex ideas and explaining them to varied audience
- Experience working on multiple projects and managing time effectively
- University degree in interaction design, new media design, or related/equivalent
- Experience working with 3d design, visualization, or animation software including Maya, 3ds Max, Houdini, and Blender
- Experience working on cloud services
- Experience facilitating working groups with extended team members and customers
- Experience with APIs and SaaS technologies
