Provides leadership and vision for production planning, designs more complex engineering plans, contracts, and production specifications. Resolves and advises on more complex inquiries, establishes sourcing needed to manufacture products, formulates policies, establish objectives, and overseas production planning and analysis. Primary Responsibilities:
- Drive the planning organization to deliver accurate production scheduling by coordinating with all relevant stakeholders.
- Spearheads the implementation of the production planning process, including identification of MPS gaps to ensure successful execution of customer demand in support of SIOP.
- May Oversee the management of inter/intra plant work in process (WIP), promise dating, and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and flow.
- Leads in the implementation of plans to minimize risk for shortages and ensure successful customer delivery.
- Manage multiple teams and own the establishment and execution of shorts to medium-terms operational plans.
- Define and provide a strategy to improve the planning accuracy.
- Define and execute strategies for Materials planning team.
- Responsible to ensure lean principles are applied to part flow and all other material planning activities.
- Provide leadership to Operations Planning employees and team leaders. Ensure they are engaged, trained, and contribute to the success of the site.
- Define the individual team member goals to align to site level goals and actively review the status of the performance management.
- Responsible for On-time Starts, milestone OTD and customer OTD.
- Identify the root causes corrective actions plan for the MPS adherence deviations and identify the solutions to fix the root cause.
- Lead order commit process to drive the organization to adhere to ‘one-plan.’
- Define and implement the CORE maturity plan for Material Planning team.
- Develop standard works and procedures to comply with corporate guidelines.
- Relentless Root Cause Corrective Actions to demonstrate the turn-backs reduction on all planning activities.
- Typically requires University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Knowledge of production control techniques and management thereof.
- Experience in the development and management of Kanban’s, supermarkets, bus schedules and vendor managed inventory.
- Proficient in Plan for Every Part (PFEP)
- Demonstrated experience in inventory management and delivery assurance.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging strong operational background.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging internal customer focus, relationship development and communication skills for continuous improvement, business, and team success.
- CORE or equivalent certification including process maturity development and root cause corrective action methods and tools.
- Demonstrated success in creating an engaged workforce and developing people.
- Thorough understanding of supply chain concepts and their financial impact (inventory turns, cash flow, and working capital).
- Experience working in both a management oversight capacity and a detailed hands-on system capacity.
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge and experience in SAP
- Knowledge and experience in Kinaxis
